The Big Apple

We had a great time in NYC with the family. My stepdaughter and ou nephew joined Diggity and the G-Man and I. We drove down to the city and met my brother's family. The fun thing about this trip is that we were able to see some things we hadn't seen before. We went to the U.N. and my sister in law and I watched the babies while everyone else took the tour.

The Security Council Room:

My sister in law and I went to the Disney Store and got a couple toys for my little nephew. He loves the movie "Cars," but after a recent trip to Disneyland also loves Mickey Mouse. He ended up getting a little stuffed Mickey that he loved.

Another fun part of the trip was getting to see some friends of mine that live in the city. Carlos and I have been friends for almost 15 years; Wade and I have been friends for 11 years and Karen and Paul have been friends for about 7 years. They are all a great deal of fun and have been a big help through challenges over the years. I love them and was so excited they got to meet Garrett.

I loved this picture of us with G-Man:

The whole reason for going to NYC was to have the opportunity to attend 110 in the Shade with Audra McDonald as Lizzie Curry. I played Lizzie when I was a sophomore at BYU and I love the show so much. I also love Audra as a performer and she was absolutely brilliant in the part. My brother was in the show with me, so Neal was nice enough to babysit while we went to the show. I was meeting a friend after and couldn't wait at the stage door to meet Audra, but my brother and sister in law were amazingly sweet and stayed to wait and have a Playbill signed for me. It's probably best that I didn't get to meet her. I don't want to have a repeat of my Betty Buckley experience (I'll elaborate in another post.)

I am going to see 110 too! Although this will be the first time seeing Ms. Audra. My sister Arielle is coming with me to NY as a last minute change of plans. I am very excited and she's excited. I'm sad that I'm going to miss you while you're here in Utah. Your blog is great fun.

You are going to love 110. It is one of the best things I've seen. I'm glad your sister is going with you. You're going to have a great time. I'm sorry I'm going to miss you too, but I'll see you in December when we come back.
