Project 365 - Day 56
I fully understand that I'm prone to use hyperbole when I'm excited about something, and that you may not believe me when I say this, but you're just going to have to trust me.
BEST. PIZZA. EVER.
In the entire world.
Zing Pizza
Cambridge, MA
Here is why it is awesome:
Oblong pizzas
Delicious Crust
Hand-decorated pizza boxes (the photographers at the wrap party with me were going crazy over the boxes)
And the toppings, oh, the toppings. Here's my favorite:
Blue October
Roasted Butternut Squash Sauce
Fresh Baby Spinach
Mozzarella Cheese
Caramelized Onions
Blue Cheese Crumbles

We may take a field trip to Cambridge soon.

AI - Girls Top 12
First, my comments this year are going to be a lot more brief. And I'm not sure I'll be able to post on the night the show airs. I've decided I need to sleep.
But I'll share a few thoughts....
- Randy and Kara are duplicating each other. Neither of them bring anything unique to the table in terms of comments. That's a shame.
- Ellen is fabulous. And the little sequence with Ellen and Simon at the beginning of the show was fantastic.
- I love Simon. I'm not sure how I feel about him being gone next season.
And about the singers:
- Janell should not have chosen a Heart song. She doesn't have the chops to mess with that. That would be like me trying to sing Heart. I can't pull that off.
- My favorites are Crystal and Katie. I thought both of them were pretty great. I liked Didi Benami, Lilly Scott and Katelyn Epperly too. Kaeley Vaughn was awful for me. In general, I was underwhelmed.
Any early favorites for you?
Project 365 - Day 55
This photo is from a live shoot I attended at Inspire Boston. Matt Grazier from Grazier Photography led the shoot, and is there just on the left of the frame. I am shooting with my iPhone over his shoulder. (I didn't bring my camera. Me=lame.) The model was so great and was styled so well, and I loved the shot of her in front of this monument in the middle of Concord, MA.

Project 365 - Day 52
Our budding chef fixed me a delightful lunch of imaginary mac and cheese. He did an excellent job with the seasoning. He's a budding Iron Chef...

Project 365 - Day 51
Disney on Ice!
I might have been overcompensating for the fact that I always wanted to go and always wanted one of those silly spinning toys that lights up and I also wanted popcorn.
It's good to have children to live through. :)
Power of Moms Photo Contest
As many of you know, I have a little personal project that I try to squeeze into my photo shoots when I get the chance - photographing moms with their kids. You can read more about the project and how I started it here.
My friend Whitney let me know about a photo contest at a fantastic website for moms - Power of Moms. The call was for photos of moms and kids together, and I was thrilled to be able to enter some of my favorites from the last year:
These five photos are in the voting pool for the contest. Evidently, the voting portion has been going on for over a week, and I had no idea. If you have a chance, could you go over to this link and vote for my five photos? (When you get to the page, click on "View Photos and Vote") You don't have to register for anything, but you do have to scroll through a pretty big page to find the five photos. Each time you vote, you can vote for five photos by clicking the box below the photo. It appears that you can vote as many times as you want, but the page changes and the photos are in a different spot every time you come back to the voting page.
Thanks for your help! And check out the Power of Moms website while you are there. It's fantastic!

Project 365 - Day 50
Love the bubble beard. And he loves baths. He would not stop moving for long enough for me to focus the camera.

Project 365 - Day 49
G-Man loved his new giant toad from Grandpa Toad. He carried it around for days and would just flop down and lay on top of it.

Project 365 - Day 48
The Valentine's Day cookie tradition continues. G-Man received one last year as well, but he didn't quite grasp the awesomeness of having a gigantic sugar cookie with your name on it in frosting.
He grasped it this year. He isn't smiling in the picture, but that's only because he was very intent on conquering the cookie.

Project 365 - Day 47
If you've known me for a few years, you know what I'm doing with this gigantic bowl of lemons.
If you don't know what the lemons are for, I'm happy to answer questions. I will just say it involves a great deal of will power, and that I'm nervous about embarking upon this week with a toddler.

Project 365 - Day 45
The aforementioned roses. They smell as fabulous as they look. And the cute card with the monkey is from G-Man. He had such fun wishing everyone Happy Valentine's Day!
Having kids around reminds you why everything is so exciting and fun.

Project 365 - Day 43
Daddy had to stay late at work tonight, so we made a fort and watched the "singing show" (American Idol) together. We also ate Spongebob Squarepants macaroni and cheese for dinner in the fort. Good times...
AI Thoughts...
I finally had a chance to watch the Hollywood Week episodes.
First, I love Ellen. I think she's going to be awesome.
Second, why don't we have the Coke drinking glasses anymore? Vitamin Water Zero? What's that about?
Also, the first round is brutal. And I hate group day. Hate.
And finally, Andrew Garcia's version of "Straight Up" was one of my favorite things I've seen on AI. Ever.
One more week, and we're into the real episodes!

Project 365 - Day 42
G-Man has been so excited about Valentine's Day. He made cupcakes at his friend's house a couple weeks ago, and since then has been talking about putting "sparkles" on things. He made a list of everyone he wanted to give heart cookies to. We have gone over the list as we drive around in the car several times since making it, and have been able to deliver and mail our cookies over the last couple of days.
All this talk about cookies, and then at the craft store earlier this week, he insists that we are making lollipops too. He picked out a mold, took it off the peg on the wall and wouldn't take no for an answer.
So, we made chocolate lollipops.
It's been so fun. I've never been great at really celebrating little holidays like Valentine's Day, but I might change my mind...

Project 365 - Day 41
G-Man was an excellent sprinkle assistant. (Or as he calls them, "sparkles.")
And we went to lunch with some friends today, where Sara made G-Man these super sweet glasses.

I ♥ Faces - Week 6

This week's theme: We Heart Kisses!
I was thinking I didn't have a photo that I could enter in this week's competition. Then I remembered this one:
I love this photo. I love the memory behind making it. I love the people in the background watching the couple. And I love that my bride and groom got so lost in their own little world.
Have a kissing photo? Go enter it at I Heart Faces this week!
Resolutionary Challenge - Week 5
Here's the chart for week 5! And at some point, I'm really hoping to catch up posting my Project 365 posts. *grin*
