Project 365 - Day 7
You'd think with all of those stickers, we'd be doing a bit better.
I don't mean to say that he isn't doing well. He is. But I also say that I'm more potty trained than he is.
People keep telling me that boys are harder. Why is that?
I have a theory - it's because they are task minded and focused. They get involved in a project or activity, and they shut everything else out. Like the urge to go to the bathroom. And by the time they realize they need to tell you that they have to go to the bathroom, they've already gone.
And don't even get me started on the nervous pooping thing. Diggity found him hiding under a table the other night.
I actually took this photo to remind me that progress has been made.
Progress has been made.
Progress has been made.
Progress has been made.
If I say it enough, I'll believe it. Right?
What do you potty training veterans think? Are boys harder than girls? Any theories as to why? Or am I crazy?

I only have boys, so I have nothing to compare it to, but they were not easy. Especially the pooping thing. Carson just got it to where he isn't scared anymore. He's almost 5. I think you are onto something about getting distracted though. They never want to stop anything to go to the bathroom. How boring is that?!
I don't know who's harder, I wish I could understand why pooping is scary. If we could understand what is going through their little minds it might be easier.
I think boys are harder, for sure. I won't say it's because girls are smarter ; ) Really don't know why.
The pooping under the table thing is a boy thing--you might also find him in a closet when he has to poop.
Yes, progress has been made.
It sucks now, but you'll love it in a few months when he just goes in and goes all by himself. You won't even know he went until you look in the potty because he forgot to flush. That makes it all worth it.
you are brave. I don't even bother trying to start until 3, 3 1/2. Or until preschool forces me to ( : love the sticker chart!!
Jane took a lot longer than I thought she would. We were at like, 90% for three months. And that extra 10% was pooping in her pants. At home, in public. She couldn't tell when she had to poop. I don't know why. It's like to her she pushed a smidge and, oops, it was just out, and that is what you get for feeding your children lots of fruit. Good luck!
