The Biggest Losers

We are starting a REALLY fun Enrichment group in our ward. It's based on the TV show "The Biggest Loser." (Which is pretty much my favorite show.)

We divided the women into 5 groups, and we will weigh in every Monday morning and the team with the lowest percentage of weight loss at the end of the week will pay up $1 per person toward a prize for the biggest losers of the month. We also have a weekly goal that is more health related. For example, this week the goal is to drink 8 - eight ounce classes of water 6 out of the 7 days this week. For each day you miss, you have to pay a dollar.

I'm a team captain and I'm very excited about it. We are the "Slimming Sisters" (we chose a positive sounding name because we are drawing positive things into our lives) and we have a most excellent team.

Join us! Here are the weigh in guidelines and the challenge for this week:

Weekly Weigh In Weigh in Monday morning by 10AM – use the same scale, wear the same clothes. Report your new weight to your team captain. Weekly Goal – each week we will have a new area of focus. As we add new goals we will continue to work on past ones. Week # 1 - Drink 8 glasses of water/day (24 hour period). You must complete the goal 6/7 days. $1 penalty for each day missed, paid to team captain weekly.

You don't have to send me your weight or pay me any dollars, but if you want to, play along with reaching the weekly goal.

I've been surprised at how much this has energized me. I'm writing down my food intake. I'm going to work hard so I don't let my team down.

Except that I got a box of these in the mail today: (Thanks Dad & Kimmie!)

We're trying to control ourselves around here with these in the house, but they are Cheryl & Co. cookies, for crying out loud! One can only be so strong! At least I don't live in Ohio within driving distance of their retail stores anymore.

looks like lots of fun. alli's ward is doing something somewhat like that, which they are calling "great in 8" because it will last for 8 weeks. but your system is simpler and more straightforward. i need to get a scale if i'm going to join you. i usually just weigh in at weight watchers each week because my master bath doesn't have a good spot for a scale.
those cookies look fabulous. i'm glad that they aren't at my house.

that is such a great idea. my sisters friend's ward is doing the same wonder if you are in it :) anyway those cookies look good.

I just joined weight watchers and am not doing so well recording my foods! it would help me so much if I just did. I need an exercise buddy too.
