Things I Saw in Salzburg

1. Mozart's Birthplace.

2. A cow with Julie Andrews painted on the side.

3. The apartment where Mozart grew up.

4. A scary Mozart doll lying in a bed to represent where he was born and the music he wrote which appeals to all - old and young. I like Mozart and everything, but that was one creepy little doll.

5. The garden from "Do Re Mi" in The Sound of Music.

6. The "wheeee!" gazebo from The Sound of Music. (That is what Britt called it. I call it the "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" gazebo.)

7. A cool Mozart statue.

8. The house and lake from The Sound of Music.

9. Beautiful scenery.

10. The church where the Captain and Maria were married in the movie The Sound of Music. (So, we went on the "Sound of Music Tour." It was fun. Except for our cheesyAustrianBobBarkertourguidewhotoldstupidjokes. Truly stupid. He was nice enough, but he's had too many old women laughing at his jokes.)

11. Two floating dresses. (This was one of the rooms in the Mozart birthplace museum. Very bizarre displays in that museum.)

12. A giant pretzel.

13. Japanese tourists trying to make G-Man smile while Diggity took a picture. (then they asked if they could take a picture of G-Man. Notice in the picture that he is looking at them instead of his dad.)

14. Eggs made into Christmas/Easter/Halloween tree decorations. (I bought one with Mozart painted on it and another with the "Silent Night" church painted on it. I wanted a jack-o-lantern one, but I thought it would break. And Diggity was being very supportive about me buying more ornaments in the first place as I had already purchased an ornament and a Santa Claus music box.)

Salzburg was amazing. The main tourist attractions are obviously Mozart and The Sound of Music, but it is a really charming little town and I wish we could have spent a little more time there. We really loved it.

I love the pictures. You're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT--that is ONE SCARY DOLL!!!! I love The Sound of Music so I'm envious--those must have been incredible places to see. (Of course, I can't get over the giant pretzel picture--although I think blogger has eaten the picture?)

I think I fixed the pretzel picture. I accidentally deleted it when I deleted a draft of this post.

Between the cow with Julie Andrews and the creepy Mozart doll, I could barely contain my sheer delight. It's much too quiet at the bank to fall out of your chair laughing.

I LOVE your pictures of Germany. My favorite one is your two guys sharing a pretzel.

Hey, Yvonne. My sister is Annie at Anniethology. Small world!

Wow. Blogging makes the world even smaller than I realized. That is crazy. Annie's blog is hilarious. I love that you have twinner cars now.

What a fabulous, fabulous tour. Last summer my son and I went on a Harry Potter tour in London -- this looks even more fun!

The Sound of Music was the first movie I remember seeing in a theater. I was three. And immediately went home and tried to pick out do re mi on the piano. What a magical, magical film. Thank you for sharing.

Your entries are delightful!
